The Brigidine Centre

The Brigidine Centre houses a variety of services: Library, ICT, Multi Media, Careers, VCE services and Counselling.

The library’s open plan layout over two levels provides a range of adaptable learning areas and comfortable, flexible furniture: individual desks, booths, high tables, low tables and lounge chairs. The intention is to provide spaces for students to engage in self-directed, individual or collaborative work.

There are also two class rooms, a meeting room, a multi-media room and a silent study room.

Since opening, usage levels have been consistently high. Lunchtimes see every seat occupied by students working together, socialising and sitting in the north-facing lounge areas enjoying a book and the view. The chess, coding and book clubs also meet weekly.

Students who prefer to study make good use of the silent study room.

Not only is the library space versatile, it also has a ‘wow’ factor: large north facing windows with views to Corio Bay, an inspirational leadlight art work and a vertical garden.
